Sorrento Unit of the State Emergency Service is based in Rosebud, Victoria, Australia.

We are a stand alone unit of the State Emergency Service of Victoria, Sorrento Unit is fully volunteer staffed and operated.

Sorrento SES covers a large service area and some of our responsabilities are:

• Primary Road Crash unit for the Southern Mornington peninsula
• Storm damage mitigation
  
• Flood damage mitigation
• Assisting other agencies such as police, ambulance and Fire Brigades
• Search and Rescue
• Emergency Lighting Operations
• Emergency Power Generators and equipment
  
• Primary Earthquake response agency
• Primary Tsunami Response agency

Volunteers in our unit are from all walks of life and are both male and female, We even have a junior member program.

Our Primary road crash vehicle, Rescue 1 is a state funded medium rigid truck. our  other vehicles are unit owned and funded from public donations, fund raising and  support from local businesses and charities.
